Our programs work with entrepreneurs and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). As defined by the World Bank, SMEs have:

These enterprises typically require between $5,000 –$1.5 million (USD) in financing. These relatively small capital injections can enable them to achieve transformative growth. We focus on those businesses with the grit, determination, and wherewithal to repay their loans and meet the market objectives defined in their business plans.
Partners
MEII partners with local financial intermediaries like banks, MFIs, leasing companies, accounting firms, business development firms, and local investors. Our organization also partners with a variety of for-profit, not-for-profit, and public sector entities. We are always seeking new and innovative ideas to maximize our impact.
