Teresa M. Ressel serves on the MEII finance committee.  She has 30 years of business experience covering finance, industrials/defense & electronics, and healthcare complementing her government service.   She has served on various public company boards, mutual fund boards, private equity and non-profit sectors.

Currently, Ms. Ressel serves on the Board of ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ) serving on their Audit, Compensation and Nominating and Governance committees.   She also serves as Trustee, Invesco Mutual Funds covering their fund family, and serves on the Audit Committee, Investments Committee and Compliance Committee.

Previously, Teresa worked across international banking and finance as CEO of UBS Securities LLC (U.S. division of UBS Investment Bank).  Prior to her CEO tenure, she led UBS’s Americas region as Chief Operating Officer across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.   These leadership roles includes risk, compliance and technology oversight.

From 2001 to 2004, Teresa served at the United States Treasury.  Confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer, her duties included financial management, strategy around revenue collection for the IRS and the U.S. Customs Bureau, leading the government’s audit across the Department, reporting and cash flow duties, and an array of regulatory oversight matters for financial markets and financial institutions.   Ms. Ressel supervised a broad array of information technology, IT security and technology transformations.  For her service representing the Secretary of the Treasury’s interests to integrate multiple Treasury divisions divested into the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, Teresa was awarded the Treasury Medal. Similarly, Teresa was recognized by the IRS with the Commissioner’s Award for her service representing the Secretary of the Treasury’s interests at the IRS Oversight Board, customer interfaces, and her Treasury leadership with IRS colleagues.

Teresa spent significant time within audit and program management across Asia Pacific with a major computer manufacturer (1990-1994).  Additionally, prior to her public service assignments, she was Chief Compliance Officer for a major hospital chain; in her various positions there, she also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, e-Commerce. Following her role at the U.S. Treasury, Ms. Ressel was hired by the Chairman of AES to remediate their technology and strategy portfolio and installed a formal Environmental and Health Safety audit program along with a system to evaluate new technology and track government regulations.

Teresa has completed cyber security training at Carnegie Mellon University; she holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and two engineering degrees (BS and MS) from the University of Delaware.  Ms. Ressel is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a non-partisan organization exploring public policy across the globe.
