Samer I. Asfour is a specialist in economic and social development, global trade, public finance and investment. He currently works as the Regional Director for the Middle East, Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (GCC), and Turkey at Tesla Motors.

Samer previously served in the Royal Hashemite Court as a special advisor to His Majesty King Abdullah II with responsibility for new technologies and pilot projects. Prior to this, Samer served as the Director of the Economic and Social Affairs Directorate in the Royal Court. He was Executive Director for Government Sector for Emerging Markets at PwC. Samer also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Investment Board and was Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Jordan. Before that, he served as Deputy City Manager for Economic Development & Planning with the Greater Amman Municipality, where his mission included the Amman Master Plan and city vision for the next 20 years.

He is a Board Member of several entities, chairman of the Basket Ball Federation. Samer is also a Young Global Leader and also a member of the Agenda Council at the World Economic Forum and he is a President Eisenhower Fellow.

Samer holds an MBA (Honors) from the University of Denver, an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking (Honors) from the University of Reading, and a BSc in Economics, Statistics and Political Science (Honors) from the University of Jordan. He has also attended several courses at Harvard University.
